Bearcats Sunk By Tigers at SLO Dual Swim Meet

Senior Tre Eade takes a breath as he swims his final lap

The Bearcat swim teams battled it out against the San Luis Obispo (SLO) Tigers at their annual swim meet. On May 8, 2020 46 races were held at the SLO High School pool, and the Bearcat swimmers fought hard during each one.

For the ladies, Freshman Mackenzie Ruppe swam a standout 100 yard Breaststroke. Her time of 1:10.73 landed her an automatic CIF qualifying time and a 1st place finish. Sophomore Justin Haggmark also has a remarkable swim, winning 1st in the men’s 500 yard freestyle by three-tenths of a second.

In the end, the Tigers took the win over all four Bearcat swim teams. The Men and Women’s Varsity teams fell 388-227.
