Varsity Girls Soccer defeat the St. Joseph knights in a 2-1 physical match
As the sunlight dropped over the PRHS soccer field, on a chilly January 3, the Lady Bearcats were ready to start off the new year with a bang. After several previous losses, the Varsity Bearcats women’s soccer team was ready to clutch another win for Bearcat athletics.
The girls started off before the game with their usual ritual. With arms interlocked and two deep breaths they were ready for the game to start. After yelling “1…2…3…Bearcats,” the team was excited to take on the undefeated St. Joseph Knights.
Even with fierce competition, the Bearcats ultimately came out on top. The 2-1 win was achieved with goals coming from right forward, Lucy Pritchard (12) and center forward, Hannah Freygang (11).
Both Freygang and Pritchard are in the top three goal scorers on the team, as well as top scorer Gracie Weyrich (11) – helping PRHS by scoring four goals this season.
