Bearcat football is back folks!

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]inning the first home football game of this school year on Friday Aug 27, 2021 the Paso Robles High School Football team is a beacon of hope for the beginning of a school year that many students have been waiting for for over a year. The exhilarating win against the Independence High School Falcons with a final score of 14-6 and school spirit demonstrated by the students, and community offers a strong sense of optimism for the coming year.

However, despite the win, team captain, senior Dominic Weber thinks that the offense could have done a better job.

“For me at least this first win was bittersweet. It was an amazing feeling to have the crowd back and be able to give them that win but as an offensive player I think my side of the ball could have done much better,” Weber said. “There were mental mistakes and we were really just unable to convert the 4th down in the first 3 quarters. In the 4th we were able to set our noses to the grindstone and get the points we needed but I think we as an offense could have and should have done better.”

Junior Leo Kemp scored both touchdowns.

“I think we have great team chemistry this year. We have a lot of seniors this year who have all been playing together for 3-4 years and that bond is really strong. All the young guys are willing to learn and are fitting into the mold really well. I think we’ll do great in league,” Weber said. “We have a talented and hard working team and an amazing coaching staff that I believe will take us a long way this year. We’ve had and will have a few tough games this preseason that I think will definitely prepare us to take on league.”
