Bearcats slaughter the Righetti Warriors in Cross Country

Bearcat cross country went home victorious on February 27; the women and men’s team won with end scores of 18 to 40 and 19 to 42, respectively. Both the men and women teams got five runners in the top six places in their 3.1-mile races.

For the women, the bearcats took the top four places. Junior Charlotte Castelli‘s led the team with her first-place time of 19:28.6 and following her was sophomore Sidney Moore (20:52.1), senior Jaden Anguiano (21:06.0), and junior Sophia Berry (21:40.8). Sophomore, Kelsey Hammond‘s time of 22:58.5 was counted for the first time this season as she placed eighth.

Moreover, junior Cameron LeClair was the top finisher for the men. LeClair ran a 17:31.1 and although a Righetti runner claimed second place, sophomore Diego Ortega placed third (18:07.0), senior Jason Scruggs was fourth (18:15.9), sophomore Joseph Martinez got fifth (18:25.8), and junior Manuel Cruz finished in sixth (18:43.0).

The next meet will take place at Paso Robles High School on March 6
