Ready to conquer the court, the JV Girls Basketball mavens were prepared, and they did just that with a final win of 46 – 15 against the Lompoc Braves, taking place on Dec. 5, 2023.

Previously PRHS played against the Arroyo Grande Eagles and won with a score of 30 – 25 putting them at a record of 2 – 0.

The JV Girls immediately showed aggression on the court, making the game move quickly. During the first few seconds into the game PRHS was given a free throw. Both shots were missed, but acted as motivation for the first shot that came after rapidly. After the first half finished, PRHS was on top, going into halftime with a score of 20 – 10. Point guard, Samantha Martinez (10), was the top scorer of the night who added 16 points to the score. Kyndrea Erraqui (10) who was positioned as the shooting guard, contributed 2 points, but handled many assists along the way.

“I feel like we did pretty good today,” said Kyndrea Erraqui, “We made our shots and we hustled on the court.”

Family and friends gathered in the gym to watch these girls play with their strengths. The crowd was not short on their support, with bright cheers and screams for the Lady Bearcats on and off the court.

Bearcats are nothing short of feisty as competitors that are able to dominate, setting them up for a hopeful season to come. The next upcoming  home game is on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
