The Paso Robles stunt team played a game at Atascadero High School against Saint Joseph High School on Wednesday, March 23rd. They played a perfect game, meaning they scored every point possible! Getting a perfect score is not an easy thing to do. This has been their only perfect game of the season. The ending score was 21-0.

Nervous for this game, the Bearcats were ready to work  their hardest for a win. There are four quarters in a Stunt game. The first three quarters all display four routines out of the six levels. The last quarter is where each event from the previous quarters are all put together. This is the most difficult. The first quarter demonstrates the partner stunts routines, followed by the second quarter showing pyramids and tosses. In between the second and third quarter, there is an eight minute half time where the girls warm up their tumbling and anything they need for quarter four. The third quarter is Jumps and Tumbling and then of course, quarter four is last.

“It was a really fun game and I’m excited that we got a perfect score!” said Maddie Hurstak.

The fifteen minute warm-up time started and both teams got their routines ready for the first and second quarter (partner stunts and pyramids). The team captains went up to the middle of the mat to do the coin flip determining what team would get to pick the first routine. Saint Joe won and called the first routine. Back and forth routines were called and the Bearcats scored a point for each one. The team looked great not only to the supporting parents but also to the judges!
