Boys Waterpolo vs Arroyo Grande

Boys Water polo lost home game against Arroyo Grande High School on Wednesday Sep 1, 2021. The Bearcats battled hard against the Eagles, with a final score of 8-15.

In the first period, the Bearcats did not manage to score a goal, until the second period, when senior Cody Domingos scored from the left side of the pool.

“Going into the game our energy wasn’t all there and it showed in our first quarter,” Domingos stated. Coming out of the first quarter the bearcats were down 4-0. But then quickly in the second quarter, the bearcats scored their first goal and slowly gained their energy back.

“We put up a pretty solid fight overall but we didn’t play anywhere near our best,” Domingos said.

Co-captain Cody Domingos, senior (#20) scores first goal for the bearcats during second period.

Domingos and co-captain Reily Lowry, senior (#10) were the top goal scorers of the game with a total of two goals each. Other goal scorers consisted of senior John Seden-Hansen (#4), junior Nolan Severson (#3), senior Evan Swettenam (#2), and sophomore Sonny Garrett (#9).

As for the season goes, I know we are one of the most competitive teams in our league. We’re hoping to be in the top 2 teams in our league. I have high hopes for this season.

Domingos

Co-captain Reily Lowry, senior (#10) scores 2 goals.

The team chemistry this year has been some of the best team chemistry in my 4 years of waterpolo. We all have a pretty tight relationship with one another and that’s going to pay off in the long run. – Domingos

Sophomore Sonny Garrett scores last goal by the bearcats in the 4th period.

Next home game Wednesday Sep, 8 vs Righetti High School.
