Bearcats Beat Braves

PRHS varsity football beats Lompoc Braves 34-33, becoming third in mountain league

Bearcats bring hope for up and coming games after winning the first home football game of the season this past Friday Sep 23, 2022 against the Lompoc Braves. The Bearcats won the game 34-33 against the Braves, in a very close game going back and forth between both teams.  The Bearcats so far are 2-0 in the mountain league and have an overall record of 4-1 giving Lompoc their first loss of the season.

At the end of the first quarter the Bearcats were down by a touchdown, 0-7 to the Braves. At the end of the first half the Bearcats were up with a score of 21-13, after only one Brave touchdown with the two point conversion blocked by the Bearcats.

Halftime brought together varsity cheer, band, and advanced dance in a creative performance. While stunts, hip-hop, and seventies swag were happening on the field, the football team kept themselves together going into the second half of the game. During the third quarter the Bearcats lost momentum with the Braves’ constant pushing, turning the score over by two touchdowns leaving the score at 21-33. While the Braves could not get past the Bearcats defense in two failed attempts at the two point conversions.
