On Thursday, Sept. 18, PRHS’ women’s volleyball team destroyed Morro Bay Pirates winning the first three sets of the match with scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-19 to end the game with a shutout victory. In the second set, the Bearcats lost their lead and were behind 17-19, forcing them to take a timeout to refocus so that they could go back on the court determined to take the lead. When Bearcats returned to the court, front row hitters Haylee Wescom and Hannah Chambers blocked the Pirate’s attempted spike, returning the ball to Pirate territory to side out for PRHS. Freshman stood out in this game with a whopping 28 digs and 10 kills.
