This was the second round of CIF for the varsity team which ended with a loss for the bearcats with a score on 0-2. PRHS Bearcat Boys soccer were up against the Burroughs Indians on Thursday Feb.22. As of now, the Bearcats league standings stands at 10 wins, four losses, and zero ties. As for the Indians, it stands at 11 wins, two losses, and one tie. Varsity Soccer team captain Jose Mejia believes the bearcat team should have been the winner. “We had more shots, more ball possession, [and] more goal opportunities. And our team hustled out there.” Mejia has played PRHS soccer for four years and is now a senior and the Varsity team captain along with Victor Rodriguez and Leo Anaya. “[I want to say] thank you to the coaches, players, and fans that came out to support [the team],” Mejia said.
