The bracket for boys varsity basketball was announced through social media three days before Paso was headed off to play the number one seed, North Bakersfield high school. The Bearcats were ranked number 16, clinching a way into the playoff round, meeting up with the North Stars whose record, 23-6, had all the makings of an underdog story. Paso had a record of 8-19 for the season and a 4-6 league record, leaving them 5th in Sunset league, with Cabrillo being last in league.
