18 PRHS 2023 Fall athletes were recognized as CCAA (Central Coast Athletic Association) All League recipients as posted on December 7, 2023.

All League boys and girls athletes are annually recognized across five fall sports competing in the Mountain League: football, cross country, women’s volleyball, men’s water polo, and women’s water polo.

Athletes are selected based on coaches’ vote, as well as other determining factors such as statistics and times.

Cross country awarded four All-League recipients among men and women runners. Women’s Cross Country presented Kinleigh Morud (9) and Kylie Troy (11) as Second Team All League holders. Tyler Daillak (11) and Bishop Morsette (11), mens’ cross country runners both were nominated for First Team All League.

Morsette, being an All League recipient, describes what separates top runners from average runners.

I think running more miles every week and getting good recovery, like sleep for example, separates the faster guys from the slower guys. Morsette said, who ran a 16:03 in the 3-mile qualifying course.

This year’s football team had five second team All League recognitions. These recipients were receiver Hayden McKanna (12), offensive line Josh Cantrell (12), running back Connor Bowman (12), defensive line Rudy Contreras (10), and linebacker Kyler Tweeten (12). Three honorable mentions were also given to defensive back Ashton Murphy (12), defensive back Isaiah Williams (12), and offensive line Cameron Paine (12).

Women’s Volleyball has two representatives, Skylar McEntire (12) second team recipient and McKenzie Cobb (12) who received honorable mention.

Women’s Water polo athletes goalie Zoey Bixler (11) received second team all league along with Summer Colegrove (11) who was recognized with Honorable mention.

“I think that to be a good water polo player you have to have a good attitude about the sport and allow your mindset to grow. Being able to keep a smile on your face and persevere through tough games is an impressive quality to have in my opinion,” Bixler said, who had 207 saves this year as Goalie.

Men’s water polo recognized goalie Ezra Smeltzer (11) for second team All League and utility player Sonny Garrett (12) received an Honorable Mention.
