Varsity BOys lose to Salinas 3-1

The first game of the 2023 boys’ varsity volleyball season took place last Thursday, February 23 in the Gil Asa gym at PRHS.

The game began at 6:15 pm, taking on the Cowboys from Salinas High School and following a win from Paso JV boys. 

The starting lineup included freshman Colin Daugherty (#4), junior Maxwell Berry (#7), junior Wade Willis (#3), junior Bennett Reed (#24), senior Omar Acevedo (#6), and junior Jordan Prowse (#1).

The first set ended with a score of 25-16, with Salinas in the lead. In the second set, the Bearcats fought hard but ultimately fell just short, losing 25-23.  

Paso won the third set 25-19, but lost the fourth 25-19 to Salinas, thus wrapping up the game 3-1, a victory for the Cowboys.
