The Varsity Baseball team lost 3-2 to the Walnut Mustangs in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Semi Final game on Tuesday, May, 30.

Senior and starting pitcher Nolan Binkele went six innings, giving up five hits.

Coming into the top of the third inning Binkele got walked. Senior and right outfielder Jeff Giroux hit a sacrifice bunt to advance Binkele to second. Senior and left outfielder Seth Matthysse got walked. Senior and catcher Mark Armstrong singled to left field, Binkele scored and Matthysse advanced to second. Junior and center fielder Dylan Lewis singled between third and shortstop letting Matthysse score leaving the Bearcats at a 2-0 lead.

After the third inning, the Bearcats failed to score again. In the fourth inning the Mustangs tied the game and scored another run in the sixth inning leading the Bearcats 3-2.

The Bearcats ended their 2017 season 26-8 overall and tied the PAC 8 league 18-3 with Righetti.
