Bearcats gain bragging rights by making it to First Team

Hours and hours of practice in soccer, wrestling and water polo have payed off for those recognized by the Tribune.  From being named First Team to player of the year, these players have put in hours of effort because that’s what Bearcats do.

First Team

Cade England~ wrestling.

“This past winter season for wrestling was incredible.  I took first place at league, which was really crazy because I had never been that far into a competition like that.  All the hard work and dedication payed off and I can’t wait for next season. “

Juan Camacho~ wrestling

“The best thing about this past winter season was playing the sport.  This season was pretty good this year, I didn’t know I would do so well.  I was pretty surprised when I found out I was named by the Tribune because I’ve never been named for anything or received this much attention from wrestling.”

Hunter Devrick ~ Wrestling

“The best part about this past winter season was being around the team and hanging out with them.  My best memory was being on the league.”

Juan Cabral ~ wrestling

“This past winter season was pretty good.  It didn’t finish how I wanted it to finish, but I made it to Nationals this year and I’m glad to have been coached by the coaches I have. My best memory about the season was CIF.”

Marina Smeltzer ~ Girls Water polo

“The best thing about this last winter season was getting to go really far in CIF and hanging out with some really awesome people. It was exciting to find out I was named by the Tribune.  My favorite game was when we went down to Anaheim, as a team I think we played really well.”

Jesus Mendoza ~ Offensive player of the year

“I was happy about finding out I was offensive player of the year. This whole season was great.”
