Curriculum Council Considers New Courses

11 courses have been broached as possible additions to PRHS campus
Curriculum+Council+Considers+New+Courses

11 new courses have been presented to PRJUSD Trustees and Superintendent of Curriculum Anthony Overton, to become possible additions to the courses that students have the opportunity to choose from for the 2024-2025 school year. The 11 courses that are up to be brought to the council include wrestling, AP seminar, Acting IV honors, two new VAPA courses, a new CTE Photography course, and a revamping of the current ELD program.

On Nov. 16, 2023 half of the courses have been reviewed so far, according to principal Megan Fletcher. During fall break another meeting is scheduled to go over the second half of courses. Acting teacher Marcy Keyser-Goodnow is one of the teachers who is up to have a class changed or added to her schedule next year.

It was actually brought to me by the students…The Acting IV Honors students will also be required to write and direct a piece that will be showcased in our Advanced Acting Showcase in the spring.

— Keyser-Goodnow
