Combatting Concussions: Sophomore must manage screen time and head pain
Lexi may seem like your average sophomore Bearcat. She loves dogs, the outdoors, and soccer. But she has a story that has changed her for life. Getting one concussion is a major problem, but that’s not the situation.
Keller has had concussions in her life that she has had to deal with, and with distance learning, that makes her situation even worse. She has missed out on her freshman year of Soccer, and an in-person school experience has also fizzled.
Headaches around the clock
Ongoing head pain from the concussions worsened with around-the-clock screen for four hours per day. Distance learning has made school no fun for Lexi. Even before distance learning, she had not had much of the Bearcat experience.
It definitely has affected my learning because staring at a computer all day doesn’t help with my headaches. It is really hard trying to balance school work and also balance doing home hospital at the same time.
