Sage Adams: Cookie Extraordinaire

Sage+Adams%3A+Cookie+Extraordinaire

Still hands and precise lines, Sage Adams cannot make a single wrong move or else her creation will be ruined. Cookie decorating, just a staple of the holiday season for most, is so much more to the Adams family.
“I started decorating cookies about three years ago.” Adams explained. “My mom is a professional cookie artist and she teaches classes every month, that’s where I started out.”

Adam’s mother Liz, or better known as Arty McGoo, has her own website and brand where she teaches cookie decorating both in person and virtually. Racking up an impressive thirty seven point 7 thousand followers on Instagram, her website is full of online video tutorials, recipes, and opportunities to join classes.

There’s no doubt that the love of icing runs in the family, but Adam’s has grown her independence in the art. “Once I realized I could really do this on my own I started making cookies for friends birthdays, baby showers, and things like that.” Her passion for creativity ultimately led Adams to take her cookies to the next level.
Like most highschoolers, Adams was in need of a job, but lucky for her, her skill set was just what Just Baked was looking for.
Just Baked is a boutique bakery located inside the Market Walk in downtown Paso Robles. As a locally owned and operated bakery, Just Baked draws in anyone from tourists looking to drop by for a cookie, to Paso Robles citizens in need of a professionally done cake for a party. Adam’s professional cookies have added to the array of available goods the bakery has to offer.

Surrounded by hundreds of cookie cutters, sheets of already decorated cookies, and just about everything else a cookie decorator could dream of, Adam’s work is more to her than just a job. Getting to exercise her creative potential and show off her extensive skill while filling out orders makes her work more fun, and more meaningful to her customers.

“I just love coming up with new designs, and how they’re each so different from the next” Adams exclaimed.
