Mixing up fall and food

DIY candy coated caramel apple slices

Everyone who loves to cook has their own recipes, rather they be for summer or winter, fall or spring. But for the people that don’t specialize in  every other season associated food there are easy foods that are perfect for every occasion. Whether it’s a hostess gift, a party snack, or an everyday treat, a caramel apple is the perfect way to lighten the mood.

1 Bag of caramel squares

6 Granny Smith apples

1 Cup shaved almonds

1 Cup coconut shavings

3 Tablespoons rainbow sprinkles

1 Cup chocolate chunks

  1. Use an apple slicer to cut each apple, then lay them out after sticking a skewer through each slice
  2. Melt the caramel in a fondue pot or pan over low heat, stirring occasionally
  3. Dip each skewer into the melted caramel, making sure to coat all sides of the apple
  4. While the caramel has yet to cool, sprinkle toppings of your choice over each apple

Let cool and enjoy!
