Information regarding the recent SLO county mandatory shutdown.
On December 8, everyone in SLO County received an automated message
warning them of a lockdown. This message alerted people that Covid-19 was quickly spreading, and reminded them to practice basic social distancing procedures, but did not provide any information regarding the rules or restrictions of the lockdown itself.
A quiz taken by 5 PRHS students on the rules and restrictions of the lockdown, had an average grade of just 36 percent.
Below is a summary of rules found in the official release of The California Department of Public Health
– Only residents are allowed to be in their homes- no guests. (Homeless people exempt)
– Group worship allowed outdoors.
– Eating on-site when you buy food is always prohibited.
– Schools may not return to in-person learning but can remain in person if they were prior to the shutdown
– In order to reopen, ICUs must have over 85% capacity available.
