PRHS swim teams last dual meet of 2016 took place on Thursday, April 21.  The swimmers were defeated by the Righetti Warriors, the boys losing 114 to 170 and the lady Bearcats losing 130-154.

“Despite the final scores, it was a successful swim meet for the Bearcats,” Coach Jen Brown said.

“The team put in a good effort at our last dual meet…everybody tried their best and kept high sprits,” Junior Casey Moffitt said.

Varsity boys relay made CIF consideration after placing second in the 200 Medley Relay. Junior Josh Dewhurst won the 500 freestyle and had a CIF consideration time of 5:02.47.

With saddened hearts, the swimmers stepped on the bus after their last dual meet.   The team sang songs and laughed on their journey home, and didn’t think of the meet as a loss. Although both boys and girls lost to the Warriors, the swimmers still finished as a team. Sophomore Gavin Hughes said he felt proud of the team. “The meets in AG and Righetti are very tough ones, where the conditions are down right miserable and the competition is very hard…Today I saw a team that didn’t seem weary or unenthusiastic, a team that wanted to be there for themselves and their teammates.”
