The new year has approached and that means, people received new hair cuts, developed different attitudes, determined new goals for the new year, decided to eat healthier…. lists of goals, aspirations, and promises to lose weight, eat better, quit bad habits, and be more productive!
As January rolls around, most people are planning their New Year’s resolutions. Sophomore Noah Heun played on the JV football team during the fall season, and has a New Year’s resolution to eat healthier by staying away from junk food/processed food.
When making goals, Heun said, “Staying consistent, and not going too long without exercising.”
Noah makes little goals that are achievable, which eventually lead him to achieve a bigger goal.
For Noah to keep track of his progress he writes down his goals for the year and every week reviews them to see his progress. If he starts to see improvement, he will stick to what he is doing, but if not, Noah will try to change it to get better results.

When Heun is faced with being inconsistent with his goals, his mom helps him to stay motivated.
“My mom helps me a lot. We both work out together. I just try to get a little bit better every day,” Heun said.
