Drama, texts, and avocado toast: the perfect summary of Love Island’s 2024 season of the summer. This reality dating show took over everyone’s minds with record high viewing and a huge social media presence.
Like many, I watched the entire season, drawn in by the mindless drama and crazy interactions between the “islanders”.
This season felt unlike any before, I was invested with each person’s couple each time I turned on the screen.I thoroughly enjoyed this entire season of Love Island and will definitely be watching next summer’s season. I am curious if they will be able to top the drama of this summer or if it will flop, leaving us hungry for a rerun of this legendary journey!
Here’s some “nausty” highlights:
POWERPUFF GANG
While this is a dating show to find love, many also found incredible friendship in each other, the most popular being a three-person girl gang: Leah, Serena, and JaNa, also known as PPG (Power Puff Gang). I loved watching their friendship blossom through the summer with inside jokes, iconic blowouts, and meaningful conversations.
ROB THE SNAKE WRANGLER
Many characters stuck out this season, but none compare to Rob, also known as the snake wrangler. His notable swamp-wading overalls and laid-back attitude charmed many girls in, leading to six different couples, some toxic and some thriving. I think that his main draw-in for the girls was the mystery surrounding him, making them vulnerable to some manipulation by him. I believe that Rob is a good person, and will be remembered for a while, at least in terms of celebrities from Alabama!
CASA AMOR BACKSTABBING
The infamous Casa Amor rolled around about halfway through this season, meant to be the ultimate test for the couple’s relationship. With a dazzling array of Casa girls, the boys were done for, and two of the strongest couples were torn apart because of these “temptations”. Drama awaited upon their return: Serena’s iconic speech to Kordell and Kaylor’s devastation at Aaron made for a fiery episode.
