Making a comeback, the Men’s Varsity Bearcats plunder the Morro Bay Pirates with an overall score 210-73.
Starting the meet with the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the men’s team places first as freshman Garret Haggmark (backstroke), freshman Drais Thai (breaststroke), junior Jakob Baier (butterfly), and senior Reily Lowry (freestyle) end the race with a time of 1:54.02.
Continuing their dominance, co-captain senior Jackson Parr places first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:58.83. Junior Justin Haggmark places first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.15, as well as the 100 Yard Butterfly: 58.25. Following him, Garret Haggmark places first in the 50 Yard freestyle with a time of 24.11 and the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:08.26.
“We swam better as a team against Morro Bay. Our swimmers competed in some events that they don’t normally swim so we could have scored even more points than we did. We only graduated a couple seniors last year and we’ve picked up new freshman that have supported the returners and overall our swimmers have gotten decently faster than last years season.”
