In a five set match PRHS Women’s Volleyball loses to Atascadero
The gym was packed with anticipating fans, family, and fellow students for the rivalry game on Oct. 2 against Atascadero Grey Hounds. After losing their first game against the Greyhounds, Bearcats were looking for a comeback. It proved strong as they held the lead in the first two matches winning the first one 25-19 and the second 25-15. However, as tensions rose Atascadero began to catch up and in an exciting third match Bearcats lost 22-25. Atascadero held their lead and Bearcats lost the fourth match 19-25 and the fifth 11-15.
Junior Phoebe Corgiat led the team with 23 kills and 27 digs. The Bearcat libero, Sophie Prieto (11), followed with 25 digs. Junior Maizie Ross ended the game with the most blocks for the Bearcats at 10. Brooke Milder (12), the teams setter, had a total of 49 assists for the game. Leading the team with aces was Senior Kimmy Buchanan with a total of 2.
