With a score of 19-7, the Girl’s Water Polo team for Paso Robles High School have brought a great performance. Last year, the win rate of the Girl’s Water Polo team was 41%. This year the win rate was an impressive 74% (Maxpreps).
When asked about the improvement of the win rate, team captain Summer Colegrove (12) stated, “We got moved down a league last season, so this year we had a lot less competitive games, and that is partially why our win rate was so high. It gave us a lot of experience. So when we went out of into the valley and like, into the finals of league. We had harder competition, but we were able to really show up and win even those games.”

This season has been crucial for the development of experience for the freshmen and Sophomore players of the team. Due to the lack of a Junior Varsity team, most freshmen had the opportunity to play Varsity games. “a lot of our freshmen, they practiced with Varsity and they played with Varsity, and due to some teams not being as competitive compared to us, they had a lot of playing time and a lot of opportunities” (Colegrove). This development will bring more experienced players next season.
