Powerful AI tools face schools’ and governments decisions to adopt, prevent, or encourage their use
Artificial intelligence has began to rise further, being used in schools, work, and even government jobs. Crimson took a look at the new program, ChatGPT, and how students could/have been using the tool in order to not have to do work. Teachers have expressed concerns about the program, with it being a (in theory) way to cheat/ violate the plagiarism policies. Read below about what facts were gathered, the impact on other communities, and opinions on the topic.

Senior Kayla Degnan is in her third year of Crimson, being Sports Co-director. She hopes to grow her knowledge in sports while also giving athletes the appreciation that they have earned. Outside of Crimson she enjoys reading, writing, watching dance moms, and learning ASL. She is varsity cheer captain this year and participates in the varsity stunt team. She cannot wait for her final year of Crimson. Go Bearcats!
Kalani Gaviola, senior, is one of the Editor-in-Chiefs of Crimson Newsmagazine, as well as co-InDepth Director. This is her second year as Editor-in-Chief and InDepth Director, and her third year in Crimson. Outside of Crimson, she is a varsity Cross Country and Track athlete, ASB Staff and Student Director, and an enjoyer of creative writing, reading, and drawing.
