JV Softball murders Mission Prep 12-3
The JV Paso softball team beat the Mission Prep Royals within seven innings, finishing with a score of 12-3. Freshman Natalie Portillo pitched all seven innings, leading them to victory on the breezy afternoon of March 5. Lizette Richkarday hit a over-the-fence home run in the fifth inning. With the team practicing five to six days a week, the win was well deserved. The coaches couldn’t be happier, “Two of our three pitchers got moved up to Varsity, but Natalie [Portillo] has been doing amazing at pitching even though she started as our second baseman. Kayla Hernandez is our starting right fielder—this is her first year of softball— and she has improved so much, I’m really proud of all of them and their accomplishments,” Assistant JV coach Danielle Lambert said.
