I like to sew and crochet! I hand-make some of my clothes out of secondhand fabric I find at thrift stores!
Jadyn Steaffens is currently teaching Science Academy 2 and Advanced Placement (AP) Environmental Science. Before coming to PRHS, she majored in environmental science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Where she worked at several animal shelters and wildlife rehabilitation centers until she decided to teach. She went on to obtain her teaching credentials at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Then, she fulfilled her student teaching duties at Paso Robles High School during the school year 2023–2024. Ms. Steaffens grew up in Paso Robles and attended PRHS right up to her graduation in the summer of 2018. She also shared that her science teachers in high school “were a big inspiration for me to pursue science and teaching, and there was no better place to do it than back at Paso High!” (Ms. Steaffens)

s, instead of wedding cakes; including my daughter’s wedding. My husband and I did quite a bit of the cooking for her wedding.
Kathy Robasciotti currently teaches American Sign Language. This includes two of the first-level classes and one of the second-level classes. Alongside this, she teaches two classes of Edgenuity. Up until now, Mrs. Robasciotti has worked at PRHS for four years. Before this, she had taught at Cuesta College for twenty-one years until becoming an ASL interpreter. Notably, Mrs. Robasciotti got her degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and is working towards her 9-12 teaching credential. The reason for working at PRHS instead of Cuesta is that she found it very difficult during the COVID-19 shutdown, where classes had to be conducted online. Another reason is her friend Mrs. Reid, persuaded her to come work at PRHS. (Mrs. Robasciotti)
Before moving to the Central Coast, I played in a band called The Pollen Collective, which has been my favorite musical venture to date!
Brian Howell is currently teaching English, math, and life skills for PRHS ALC and TLC students. He taught one of the ALC II classes at Winifred Pifer Elementary School during the 2023–2024 school year. Mr. Howell obtained a bachelor’s degree, two teaching credentials, and a master’s degree from National University. Eventually, he and his wife moved from Southern California to the Central Coast a year and a half ago. They came to the vicinity thirteen years ago, where his wife reunited with her family in Templeton. He said, “We immediately knew this is where we wanted to live when our kids moved out of the house.” On the contrary, Mr. Howell plays electric, acoustic, and upright bass! Over the years, he’s played for four bands and has had the opportunity to play with some big punk rock names during the late 80s and early 90s. Simultaneously, he had gone on to record five albums and tour Europe and the Western United States. (Mr. Howell)
I’ve been surfing for well over 30 years. I play guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, and harmonica. I can deadlift 365 pounds.
Robert Voorheis (Mr. V), currently teaches Algebra 1 and Algebra 1B. Before coming to PRHS, Mr. Voorheis formerly taught at Shandon High School for eight years, then at Lewis Middle School for one year. He has a bachelor’s degree in art and design from Cal Poly, as well as a math credential from the University of La Verne. Mr. V also has a CTE credential in arts, media, and entertainment. He decided to work at PRHS because he found it close to home, coupled with the enjoyment of teaching high schoolers. (Mr. Voorheis)
Johnathan Hatley currently teaches modern world history and US history. He was a history teacher over at Parlier High School, teaching the same subjects, before coming to PRHS. For his teaching credentials, he studied at Grand Canyon University, but he completed his student teaching in Visalia, California. This school is located in the valley and has snowy mountains an hour and a half away from it. It’s here that Mr. Hatley joined a snowboarding club, but when he came to PRHS, there wasn’t one. Therefore, he decided to create one of his own! Mr. Hatley had previously lived in Paso Robles for ten years after high school before deciding to come back home after exploring the world. Here, he has lots of friends and family.
I once went swimming in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. And I didn’t get there by boat or plane.
Jerred Vidal is currently teaching special education in the TLC program. Before coming to PRHS, he was a math teacher at Arroyo Grande High School. Mr. Vidal earned his math and science credentials at Chapman University. In addition, he is currently studying for his special education credential and masters at UMass Global. He decided to come to Paso Robles High School because he has a cousin who works here. He also said that he’s “heard nothing but good things about this district.” Therefore, taking the opportunity to work here when it arose. (Mr. Vidal)
“I play a lot of sports. I’ve been consistently playing softball for over 20 years. I play co-ed and men’s soccer; I do indoor soccer; and I’ve become a long-distance runner in the past 4 years, so I’ve been doing a lot of marathons, and I recently qualified for Boston” (Mr. Martinez)
Edwin Martinez currently teaches modern world history in the DI program. Before coming to PRHS, Mr. Martinez was, and still is, at Lewis Flamson Junior High School. He obtained his teaching credentials from Cuesta College and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Mr. Martinez chose Paso Robles High School because he found it to be “a huge opportunity left vacant.” And when offered the job, he “figured it would be a good idea to continue the dual immersion program.” (Mr. Martinez)
I used to kickbox and I am a concert trained pianist. Both a long time ago.
Tracie Gonzales currently teaches ceramics. Before coming to PRHS, Ms. Gonzales was formerly a teacher at a high school in Bakersfield for fifteen years, then taught art at Lewis Middle School for nine years. For her teaching credentials, she studied at California State Bakersfield and San Diego State University. She moved to Paso Robles ten years ago. Furthermore, she says she’s “always enjoyed working at the high school level” and “now I get to teach ceramics as well, which is one of my favorite subjects in the arts field.” (Ms. Gonzales)
