“It’s about familia, it’s about community, it’s about hard work and sacrifice, it’s about faith, and about something bigger than ourselves.”
PRHS welcomed guest speaker, Henry A.J. Ramos in honor of Hispanic heritage month. Mr. Ramos is an accomplished author, artist, consultant, and social commentator, with a Doctor of Law from U.C Berkeley among other educational accomplishments. While speaking to students during tutorial, Ramos emphasized the importance of applying yourself and giving your best effort in all aspects of life to be successful.
“Whatever you are committed to in terms of school, family, and jobs, bring your full self to that. That is what integrity is about.
Ramos also spoke on the importance of having pride in Hispanic background, and individual pride in culture. He encouraged students and addressed discrimination and how he overcame stereotypes as a young man.
“The only thing that should limit you is your own thoughts, don’t let other people tell you who you can be.”
