Boys Varsity Soccer Battles through to the Second Round of CIF

The varsity Bearcats boys soccer team competed in the first round of CIF Playoffs against the Sunnyside High School Wildcats. The Bearcat boys soccer team won 2-1 on Parish field at PRHS.

In the last half of the game junior defender, Angel Contreras (#22)  made the winning goal to send the Bearcats  into the next round of CIF. 

“We made a lot of good passing plays, and I feel like we connected as a team pretty well towards the end of the match,” Junior defender Adan Morales (#14) said. 

Although the game overall went well, some mistakes that sent the team back. 

This led the Bearcats to the final goal that won the first round of CIF. 

The varsity boys soccer team had a 16-6 record and played against Clovis East, Timberwolves, on Friday, February 16 in a game of 1-2 ending their CIF journey short which gave them a final record of 16-7. 

The game between the Bearcats and the Timberwolves was able to score 2 points on the Bearcats at Parish field cementing their win and a loss for the Bearcats in the second round of CIF playoffs.

The game between the schools ended with the Timberwolves scoring 2 goals on the Bearcats cementing the loss for the Bearcats in the second round of the CIF playoffs.

The boys soccer team was able to end their season strong with a win record of 16-7 overall and a 5-2-3 league record.
