After a year of no live theater the Drama Club jumped back into action on a high note. Musical Theater International supported the return to live theater by offering a show that schools could perform for free, so the first show of Paso High’s Drama Club was a fundraiser for their program. All Together Now was performed on November 13th at Paso High at 7:00 pm, and November 14th at California Coast Beer Co. at 1:00 pm. The showing was a series of songs from well-known musicals and had group numbers, duets and solos. With two 3 hour rehearsals outside of school and practicing every Friday in class, more than 15 hours were put into the preparation for the show. This does not include the work that was put in outside of class to perfect their pieces and be able to pull off such a successful return to theater. Senior Cameron LeClair, President of the Drama Club and member of the Acting 4 IV class said, “The event was a success, with two fun performances put together. It was our first time performing together in the theater in years, and it was great to be back.”
A silent auction was also held on Sunday from 1-3 pm to help raise additional funds, and they were grateful to receive contributions from local businesses and sponsors. These funds will be used to produce multiple plays this year, including the upcoming performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon.
