The Bearcats call a close game against the Cajon Cowboys
Bearcat football had a close game on Friday, Sept. 16. Nevertheless, the Bearcats pulled off the win 31-28 due to a late fourth quarter interception caught by senior corner back Blake Adame.
In the first quarter the ‘Cats scored 20-16 against the Cowboys, while the second quarter remained scoreless by both teams. After halftime, the Cowboys scored two touchdowns with no extra points while the Bearcats could only kick a field goal leaving the score 28-23 Cowboys. However, the Bearcats came back with a bang and were able to score a touchdown and a two point conversion leading the team to a 31-28 victory.
The results of this game leave the Bearcats undefeated and 4-0. The win also gave the team a national rank jump from 3,623 to 860, while the California rank went from 267 to 78.
The Bearcats will play the 84th California ranked Clovis North on Friday, Sept. 23 at War Memorial field. Kickoff starts at 7 pm.
