Mechanic from the show Overhaulin’ Ben Bright gives passionate talk

Bright averaged about 120 hours every week working on cars while he was on the show. However, after season five, he ended up quitting to spend more time with his family, as well as to fulfill a dream of opening his own automotive shop.
“It was a huge leap of faith going from knowing that you’re working for someone and having a paycheck every two weeks to being on my own,” Bright said as he talked about his shop “Old Soul.”
Before his recent move to San Luis Obispo, he resided with his family in Morro Bay where he kept his shop open to all students who wanted to come in and learn about mechanics, hoping to provide them with opportunities to pursue their passions.
The thing that helped me get where I am is to learn from every experience I’ve had and incorporate into my life what I needed from it. Have a goal and stick with it.
“I wouldn’t be where I was if someone didn’t give me that opportunity,” Bright said. “You’re given certain talents… and you can have a huge impact on the people around you and what you do.”
